Music

Music is an integral part of every mission. Good News International would like the music ministry of the parish to be a part of the mission.

Prayer & Rituals

Prayer is also an integral part of our mission. We incorporate rituals into the mission, drawing from the tradition of the parish and the preference of the pastor, and welcome his participation at the level he chooses. We also like to reserve time at the end of each mission to pray for the needs of those attending.

Transportation & Housing

We will be responsible for arranging our own transportation. We request that housing be provided either at the rectory or at the home of a parishioner during the mission and that the missionaries stay in the same house if possible.

Offering

There is no charge or honorarium for conducting a mission. We do ask that the parish reimburse transportation costs and that we would be allowed to take up an offering at the end of the mission to support the ministry and ourselves.

Advertising

The primary source of encouragement about the mission should come from the pastor. Pastoral support is essential to the success of the mission. Announcements from the pulpit inviting parishioners to attend should begin a minimum of three weeks before the event. We will provide flyers and posters that may be placed throughout the parish facilities. We suggest that the fliers be copied and inserted into the bulletin at least three weeks prior to the mission. It is also helpful to place announcements in the bulleting of surrounding parishes two weeks prior to the mission. Any other forms of advertising (local newspapers, radio, etc) are also very effective.
